COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test Cassette is used to detect the presence of SARS-CoV-2 antigens in human anterior nasal swab specimens. It can be used for self- monitoring  in case of symptoms  characteristic  of COVID-19, however, it does not replace tests based on nucleic acid detection(for example PCR analysis).

[ TEST PRINCIPLE ]

The COVID-19(Colloidal Gold) antigen assay uses the principle of lateral flow  immunoassay  to detect the presence of SARS-CoV-2 virus  nucleocapsid  protein in nasal swab specimens. 
When the sample is dropped into the sample well, if the SARS-CoV-2 virus  nucleocapsid  protein is present, it is bound to color-labeled  antibodies  that can uniquely recognize the protein. The sample then enters the test area of the membrane due to the capillary action,There are two bands in this region, the first(labeled T) contains  antibodies  that can uniquely recognize the SARS-CoV-2 virus  nucleocapsid ,and the second band(labeled C) binds only  antibodies  that recognize color-labeled  antibodies  to the membrane. Thus,the T-labeled band may bind to SARS-CoV-2 virus  nucleocapsid  proteins that have  previously  bound a colored antibody,so the T-label only shows a color reaction if this viral protein was present in the nasal swab sample. If no viral protein was present in the sample,the T mark would not discolor the band,In the C-band,the color-labeled  antibodies  bind,so a color reaction must take place in each case. If the C-labeled band does not stain,the color-labeled  antibodies  did not reach the test surface. If there is no color reaction here,the test cannot be evaluated.
